It’s a Rock & Roll Fan’s Dream: Hairball Promises 20 Concerts In One at The Great New York State Fair

If you ever dreamed of seeing Van Halen, KISS, or Queen LIVE – or maybe you want to relive some of their best hits – The Fair can offer a comparable experience on Labor Day. Hairball promises to serve up “20 concerts in one” on the last day of the 2023 Fair. Hairball will take the Suburban Park Stage at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 4.

This six-member band eats, sleeps, and breathes Rock & Roll. Vocalists Kris Vox, Dave Moody, and Drew Hart lead the band through a two-hour show that transports concertgoers back to the 1980s and recreates legendary experiences from some of the biggest arena acts in the world. The heartbeat of the band comes from HBK on electric bass, Billy on percussion, and Happy on lead guitar. Together, the sextet delivers a bombastic, action-packed party featuring hits from Van Halen, KISS, Motley Crue, Queen, Journey, Aerosmith and more – peppered with thrills, including light shows, smoke, fire, and pyrotechnics.

“Hairball is not your typical 80’s cover band. The goal is to leave fairgoers feeling like they saw a variety of their favorite bands in one!” said Sean Hennessey, Interim Fair Director. “These guys bring it and they play every show as if it’s their last. While they’re known for recreating iconic songs and moments in Rock history, they’re also constantly innovating and evolving, introducing their own style and flair. Their proven ability to captivate audiences of all ages is exactly the kind of performances we live for here at The Fair. We live for making memories!”

Hairball’s performance rounds out a Labor Day line up that includes fellow 80s rockers Foghat, performing at 4:00 p.m. at Chevy Court, and Skid Row who will follow Hairball’s show at 6:00 p.m. at Suburban Park to close out this year’s Chevrolet Music Series. On Labor Day, the last day of The Fair, the concert schedule adjusts so that the Fairgrounds can close by 9:00 p.m.

All performances in the Chevrolet Music Series – 48 acts spread across 13 days – are included with the price of Fair admission. Admission tickets, on sale now at NYSFair.NY.Gov, are $6 for adults. Those who are 12 years old and younger, and 65 years old and older, get in for free.

The Fair has just one more musical act to announce. Acts announced thus far are provided below, and included online at pages dedicated to Chevy Court and Suburban Park on The Fair’s website.
